About the event

The Curro Durbanville Open is a chess tournament that welcomes players of all levels, from beginners to experts. It is divided into four sections, each catering to a specific range of players based on their Elo rating.

  1. The Championship section is for      players with an Elo rating of 1700 and above.
  2. The Advanced section is for players      with an Elo rating of 1300-1699.
  3. The Intermediate section is for      players with an Elo rating of 0-1299.
  4. The Beginner's section is designed      for young players under the age of 12 with rating below 1000.

All sections have a time control of 25 minutes plus 10 seconds per move.
