Holiday Chess Program

Join us for an exciting and interactive holiday program from the 27th to the 29th of March at Curro Durbanville! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, we have something for everyone. The program will run for three days, with two sessions daily from 9-12 pm for beginners and players below 900 rating, and from 2-5pm for advanced players.

For beginners, Day 1 will focus on Chess Tactics Double Attacks and the Fork, followed by Learning to Pin and Skewer on Day 2, and Discovered Attacks and Double Checks on Day 3. For advanced players, Day 1 will cover the Basic Principles of Positional Play, Day 2 will cover how Tactics Blend with Positional Play, and Day 3 will focus on Improving Your Thought Process.

After each session, participants will have the opportunity to test their skills in a Rapid Tournament, with surprise prizes from Huawei awarded daily. And for the top 16 aggregate participants over the three rapids, an invitation to the Huawei Knockout Challenge 2 awaits, to be held at century city Huawei offices, with magnificent prizes up for grabs!
