Learn, Train and Play Chess Online

October 31, 2018

The importance of chess to kids has not been fully appreciated but I like it because chess is more than a board game. It teaches us to think analytically and to be more successful in life, no matter what our profession.

Learning Chess will give your child skills that they can take with them throughout life:
• Strategy
• Tactics
• Creativity
• Perseverance
• Calculated risk-taking

We have chess at the school and it’s amazing when you get to experience what these kids are capable of and what they do with that limited exposure. The inert ability and talent plus skills they can get from this sport have not been exploited at all.

To succeed at chess one needs to be able to

  1.        Look

  2.        Learn

  3.        And Practice

The above applies in any area of competence.

We have only limited time a week with each group and this is by far not enough to do 1, 2 and 3. Moreover in that time we want to teach they and they want to play and it becomes a conflict.

My solution in partnership with African Chess Lounge was to create an online platform which would enable kids to look, learn and practice easily in the comfort of their home. It’s also available on android and IOS.

With our platform the kids can

• Play Real-time Chess games anytime
• Chess puzzles
• Video content
• Guided lessons
• Ability to join online competitions
• Kids can even play their friends from class or club!

The service costs R200 for 3 months and we provide monthly reports and guides to keep you informed on how they are doing.
